A story of love, talent and patience between Maryse and Didier Roba

who have made it possible to interpret the qualities of the terroir.

Maryse is too modest to say so, but in her hands, Vieux Robin has been truly revealed.

She will explain to you that, because of the frost in 56

which necessitated replacing practically the whole of the vineyard,

Vieux Robin now benefits from grape-varieties in the very prime of life.

That is true, but what is essential is the work carried out jointly with Didier : nothing is left to chance.

Because they are convinced that the quality of the wine depends on the quality of the fruit,

each parcel is monitored as regards vigour, pruning and maturation.

Harvesting is a real task of the finest precision,

juggling between different parcels to achieve the best blend.

Gentle extraction but long maceration

enable all the fruit's components to give of their best.

Care and delicacy too in the aging process,

with just the right amount of wood to enhance the wine

allowing it at the same time to express itself to the full.

It was in 1988 that the "Bois de Lunier" label was created

- a name on the Land Register assigned to the parcels of vines.

Aged in new oak barrels of the best wood from the Centre of France,

the wine under this name reveals all the elegance of its rich breeding,

and the complete harmony of the people responsible for its creation.

Since then, Château Vieux Robin "Bois de Lunier" and Château Vieux Robin have received accolades

from tasting experts and from the international press.

In 1994, its label won the "Gaulon de la Création",

an award presented by vine-growing federations and professional press organizations.
